The presentation of the Romanian film “Morgen” directed by internationally recognized Romanian director Marian Crisan was held in Baku on March 9.
The film won several prizes at international festivals in Wiesbaden (Germany), Locarno (Switzerland), Thessaloniki (Greece), Lisbon (Portugal), Buenos Aires (Argentina) and Reykjavik (Iceland).
Co-organized by the Romanian embassy in Azerbaijan and French Institute, the event was carried out in the framework of Francophonie Week which is being held in the capital on March 8-15.
Many guests attended the presentation including representatives of diplomatic corps, cultural figures and students.
Addressing the event, Pascal Meunier, French Ambassador to Baku greeted the audience and underlined that Francophonie Week attracts great interest in Azerbaijan.
Romanian Ambassador Daniel Cristian Ciobanu expressed his satisfaction of presentation the film to Azerbaijani public.
He said that the film tells the story of the strong friendship built between Romanian and Turkish peoples. The main character is played by Turkish actor Yilmaz Yalcin.
Romania pays a special attention to the development of bilateral relations with Baku in all fields, including culture.
Romania and Azerbaijan are strategic partners and have an excellent cooperation in almost all fields. Cultural links between the two countries are flourishing and they serve as a strong fundament for closer interaction.
Besides excellent political dialogue and increasing economic cooperation relations in the field of culture are strongly developing.
Events organized by the Romanian Embassy in Baku on January 15, 2015 in the framework of Romania’s National Culture Day showed that Romanian culture is highly appreciated in Azerbaijan.
At the same time Azerbaijani culture is wide-known and valued in Romania thanks to the active work of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation.
The Romanian embassy in Baku will continue its efforts for expanding and strengthening the partnership with Azerbaijan.
