The 32nd meeting of International Turkish Culture Organization (TURKSOY) was held in Kazan city of Russia.
The delegation headed by Deputy Culture and Tourism Minister Vagif Aliyev presented Azerbaijan at the event.
During the meeting a report on the last year projects was discussed and programs for 2015 was approved.
Furthermore, the participants discussed the appointment of Dusen Kaseinov as the Secretary General of TURKSOY till 2017. They also chose Mary city of Turkmenistan as “The Cultural Capital of Turkish World” in 2015.
Addressing the event, Vagif Aliyev talked about the projects implemented as part of the TURKSOY. He also added the importance of the next year’s event.
Mary is the capital city of Mary Province in Turkmenistan. Mary is known for its Regional Museum. The city lies near the remains of the ancient city of Merv, which in corrupted form gives its name to the modern town.
Mary is the third largest city of Turkmenistan. It is the largest center of cotton-rich region, a major transport hub and the main center of the gas industry of the country. The city is the main source of income of Turkmenistan.
