Azerbaijan establishes Bashir Safaroglu Award

Azerbaijan State Musical Theater has established an award for the best young artists in the 105th theater season.

The award will be presented to "Best young actor and actress of the year."
Aimed to give additional motivation to young actors and actresses, the award will help them unfold their capacity and increase their role in creative activities.
Meanwhile, Azerbaijani People's Artist Afag Bashirgizi has established another award, dedicated to her father, Azerbaijani outstanding and talented actor Bashir Safaroglu.


Known to many Azerbaijanis, Bashir Safaroglu left behind a lot of comedy films, which are almost hard to list.
Safaroglu was not only a brilliant comedian of the last century but also one of the finest actors of the Azerbaijani Theater.


The great actor is a founder of a new branch of the Azerbaijan comedy, managed in a relatively short path of his artistic career is not just to reach the hearts of viewers, but to make them think otherwise.
It is not accidental that his colleague Arkady Raikin named Bashir Safaroglu "South Chaplin."


He was remembered in the audience's minds with his great performances both on the stage and in domestic films.
Safaroglu's stage debut was in his early age which gave him a big experience.
