The legendary rock-opera "Juno and Avos" will thrill its Azerbaijani audience by giving a concert in Baku on May 3.
Baku Heydar Aliyev Palace will host the show to be performed by the Theatre of Alexey Rybnikov, composer, People's Artist of Russia and laureate of the State Prize of Russia.
The most famous rock opera on the Russian stage was held by composer Alexey Rybnikov and poet Andrei Voznesensky.
The Stage Director of the opera is Alexander Rykhlov, one of best directors of musical theater in Moscow, known for his work in theater, television and live programs.
Vocal of the rock opera was directed by Russian honored artist Jana Rozdestvenskaya, the first performer of the major parties in the rock operas by Rybnikov and performer of many hits of the Soviet cinema.
Stunning choreography staged by Jana Shmakova adds brightness to the performance.
The rock opera by Rybnikov has already been staged in Russia, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, France, and Israel.
"Juno and Avos" is a sad love story based on real life of a Russian traveler and diplomat graph Nikolai Rezanov who promoted the project of Russian colonization of Alaska and California and daughter of a Spanish colonist Conchita Arguello.
Big disparity in years and long distance prevent lovers from being happy together. Rezanov left America to achieve a permission to marry Catholic Conchita, however, he died near Krasnoyarsk, without gaining it. Conchita waited for him for about 35 years, and then retired to a cloister.
The opera was first staged in the Lenkom Theatre, Moscow, in 1981, directed by Mark Zakharov, with Soviet famous actors Nikolai Karachentsov and Elena Shanina in main roles.
