Arshin Mal Alan screening due in London

The King’s College London will host a free screening of Arshin Mal Alan (The Cloth Peddler), supported by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, the Embassy of the Republic of Azerbaijan to the UK, ASAIF and TEAS.

Made in 1945, and based on the famous 1913 operetta by Uzeyir Hajibeyli, this film achieved international popularity. It stars the renowned Azerbaijani lyric tenor Rashid Behbudov. The film has recently been digitally restored and colorized to commemorate the centenary of the operetta.
