Azerbaijan House in London marks 5th anniversary

The Azerbaijan House in London has celebrated the 5th anniversary of its establishment.

The event was attended by employees of the Azerbaijani Embassy in the UK, representatives of diasporas in London, as well as local and foreign communities.

The event participants held a moment of silence to commemorate the late Co-Chair of the Anglo-Azerbaijani Society Lord Fraser.

The event participants then heard a congratulatory message of Tamara Dragadze, the expert on the Armenia-Azerbaijan Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, teacher of the London, Oxford and Leads universities.

Representative of the Azerbaijan House in London Farida Panahova gave detailed information on the organization.

She said the Azerbaijan House in London has been established in 2006 by the initiative of Azerbaijani intellectuals, young professionals and students living in UK.

The organization serves as a community centre, promoting cultural activities and friendship between Azerbaijanis and the local community.

Chairman of the Azerbaijan House in London Dr Ali Tekin Atalar thanked the country’s embassy in the UK and compatriots for helping the activity of the organization.

Dr Ali Tekin Atalar provided an insight into the activity of the Azerbaijan House. He expressed confidence that the organization would worthily represent country’s Diaspora.

Azerbaijani Ambassador to the UK Fakhraddin Gurbanov also addressed the event and congratulated the Azerbaijan House on the 5th anniversary.

The Ambassador noted the importance of such organizations in terms of expanding bilateral bonds between the UK and Azerbaijan.

The event participants then watched a documentary on the activity of the Azerbaijan House in London during 5 years.

Ambassador Fakhraddin Gurbanov was presented with a keepsake by the Azerbaijan House in London as a sign of the friendship.
