ABBA hits to be performed by 'Angels' in Baku

The best hits of the legendary group ABBA will be performed for the first time in Baku by the contemporary opera and symphony show Angels at the Azerbaijan State Russian Drama Theater named after Samad Vurgun on November 1-2.

The main characters and performers of the international hits are soloists of the modern Angels opera show led by Sabina Tsvetkova, who put forward the idea and is also the choreographer and director of this unforgettable spectacle.

The concert will feature popular songs of the famous Swedish quartet, such as "The Winner Takes It All", "Gimme!", "Happy New Year" and many others.

The project's arranger is the famous conductor Vyacheslav Serzhanov, who composes music of such genres as jazz, piano, music for symphony and chamber orchestras and chamber ensembles.

Serzhanov has made arrangements for such Russian stars and composers as Nikolai Baskov, Valeria, Diana Gurtskaya, Yevgeniy Doga, David Tukhmanov, Igor Krutoy, as well as worked on the "Mademoiselle Zhivago" album of Lara Fabian.

Serzhanov offers a new sound of the hits of the popular quartet under the "ABBA - Music of the Legends" project.

The vocal parts will be performed by soloists of the Angels show, which consists of young professionals who have won various Russian and international festivals and contests, the winners of a global chamber singing competition in 2010, who shine at the world's top opera stages.

Such a combination of talent, popular music and love will undoubtedly impress music lovers and allow them to enjoy the triumph of musical elegance and celebration.
