09 July 2013 [13:20] - TODAY.AZ
An exhibition of young artist Maryam Alakbarli has recently opened in the Central House of Artists in Moscow as part of the International Festival of Arts "Tradition and Modernity", AzerTac state news agency reported.

Maryam's artworks are being exhibited here for the second time. Last year, the jury awarded Maryam with the "Faith" prize for a series of works titled "Spring edge".

This year Maryam presents her works under a common title "The Dance of Colours". Paintings titled "Blooming Valley," "Still Life with Fruit and White Jug", "Amazon", "Fairy Motifs" attract the attention with bright colors and shades. "Maryam's works are full of warmth. I am fascinated by these works," said the director of the Moscow Multimedia Art Museum Olga Sviblova.

"She is a rare talent. Some artists are trying to create images of simple lines for a very long time, but she is already doing it," President of the Russian Academy of Arts Zurab Tsereteli said about Maryam.

Vice president of the Russian Academy of Arts Tahir Salahov, speaking at the opening ceremony of "Tradition and Modernity" Festival, said that this year a large hall of the Central House of Artists features Maryam Alakbarli's artworks.

Azerbaijan`s ambassador in Russia Polad Bulbuloglu,in turn, said the fact that "Maryam`s paintings are on display together with works by outstanding Azerbaijani artist Tahir Salahov is a great achievement of our art".

Self-portraits by Maryam Alakbarli have something like a line, which divides the space into two parts - the one full of great love for Maryam and another - her love for this world. Pictures created by Maryam on canvas, reflect her feelings and desires.

One of the peculiarities of her paintings is her work with color and color-complementary contrasts. She creates her own bright and harmonious world, courageously using forms and colours.

Although Maryam is very young, she has had her works displayed in many countries. The year 2010 saw the organization of two exhibitions at Art Garden and then in Giz Galasi galleries in Baku. Her personal exhibitions were then arranged in Berlin, Paris, Istanbul, Ankara. In 2011, Maryam`s works were put on display at the UNESCO headquarters.

"When I saw works and abstract compositions by Maryam I understood what she is doing, and what she is trying to show through her works," expert Thierry Dufrene said.

Albums of works by Maryam, including "My beautiful world", "Seasons" and "Dance of Colours" were published in English, French and Japanese.

German art expert Ingi Schimdt said that she was highlighting works by the young Azerbaijani artist during her talks with students at the Berlin Academy of Arts.

"Maryam`s paintings deeply touch human feelings. I show Maryam`s works to my students and tell them: just look and learn," she said.
