Baku to be host city for second int'l puppet biennale in November

Baku will host the second international puppet biennale "Fusion doll" at the Museum Center on November 5-10.

The event to be organized by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism aims to draw international puppetry organizations to cooperation with Azerbaijan.

The biennale will create opportunities for young Azerbaijani artists to demonstrate their works. It will also feature master classes by professionals.

We recall that the First International Baku Dolls Biennale was held at the Museum Center on Nov. 4-10, 2011. 19 doll masters from nine countries - Azerbaijan, Belarus, Czech Republic, Italy, France, Latvia (Riga Doll Museum), the Netherlands, Russia (Gallery Vahtanov), and Ukraine -- joined the biennale.

Azerbaijan was represented by Elmira Abbasli, Tamilla Kurbanova, Parviz Huseynov and Irina Gundorina, as well as students of the DA ART studio -- Farah Aliyeva, Nubar Shahbazova, Fidan Salakhova, and Alina Yusupova.
