Azerbaijani artists participate at the VII Int'l Festival in Moscow

A press conference dedicated to the opening of the VII Moscow International Festival of Art “Traditions and Contemporaneity” took place in the ITAR-TASS Agency in Moscow.

The festival will open its door for everyone on June 26 to 30, in the Central House of Artist.
The organizer of festival is the Moscow Public Fund of support of culture and development of the modern art under the aegis of UNESCO with support of Department of Culture of Moscow and the Russian Academy of Arts. GAZPROM Energy Company is main sponsor of festival.

The international jury of festival is headed by the People’s Artist of the USSR, Russia and Azerbaijan, the vice-president of the Russian Academy of Arts Tahir Salahov, whose works are also will show at festival.

The works in eight directions of art will present to the festival award: painting, graphic arts, sculpture, installation, photography and applied arts.

Painters about 40 countries, sculptors, photographers, artist of graphics, masters of applied art, and galleries from different countries presented their works at the VII Moscow International Festival of Arts. Representatives of France, Belgium, Turkey, Italy, Germany, Greece, the USA, Romania, Serbia, Bulgaria, Israel, Ukraine, Azerbaijan and Japan became participants of the anniversary of festival.

The festiva was marked by a considerable number of young talents and even honorable organizers to show works of eminent masters: Tahir Salahov, Vasili Nesterenko and Vladimir Vasilev, photos by Eduard Pesov, graphic arts by Vladimir Naumov, sculpture works by Zurab Sereteli and national artist of the Russian Federation Vladimir Suvorovtsev. Sculptures personify rich traditions and give example of self-denying work and devotion to art.

All modern art is anyhow based on culture of different nations. It is necessary to reestablish communication between modern art and customs, creativity, values of ancestors in everyone’s consciousness. It is important to raise importance of traditions and history in youth. Many special projects are publicly supported, tribute to presevtaion of domestic cultural heritage is paid, visitors have met well-known and recognized and what important have got known new art names who will continue and develop our art and cultural traditions.

The awarding ceremony of the bronze figurine “Vera”, the first award in the field of fine arts will be in “Et-Ctera” theatre, on Jule 1.
