Int'l Rostropovich festival ends in Baku - PHOTOS

The 6th International Mstislav Rostropovich festival, organized by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation and Azerbaijan Ministry Culture and Tourism, has ended in Baku. The closing ceremony of the 6th international Mstislav Rostropovich festival took place in the Heydar Aliyev Palace.

Speaking at the event, Azerbaijani Minister of Culture and Tourism Abulfas Garayev noted the organization of such solemn closing ceremony was a great event for Azerbaijani culture.

The festival brought together world famous musicians and music ensembles. The festival held this year is more important as it coincides with Rostropovich`s 85th anniversary. The minister thanked Azerbaijan`s first lady, president of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, UNESCO and ISESCO goodwill ambassador, MP Mehriban Aliyeva and president of the Rostropovich Foundation Olga Rostropovich for the organization of the festival.

The international festival wrapped up with the concert of Maggio Musicale Fiorentino Symphony Orchestra (Italy).
