Arshin Mal Alan operetta maybe staged in Lithuanian

Azerbaijani ambassador in Vilnius Hasan Mammadzade has visited Klaipeda State Music Theatre to discuss the possibilities of staging classical Azerbaijani operettas, particularly Arshin Mal Alan, in Lithuanian language. He presented the samples of Azerbaijani State Opera and Ballet Theatre`s work to Klaipeda Theatre`s director Ramunas Kaubrys.

They discussed prospects for developing the cooperation between Lithuanian and Azerbaijani theatres.

The Azerbaijani ambassador also met Klaipeda mayor Vytautas Grubliauskas, and they stressed the importance of cooperation between the two countries` cities. They emphasized the necessity of building fraternal relations between Klaipeda and an Azerbaijani city.

They discussed the issue of participation of Azerbaijani representatives in annual cultural and art festivals in Lithuania, and the opening of Sunday schools for Azerbaijani children in the country.

The ambassador also met members of “Azeris” Society as well as members of the Azerbaijani community in Klaipeda.
