Azerbaijani Fun Day held in Maryland

The Karabakh Foundation in Washington arranged Azerbaijani Fund Day in Maryland State.

The participants familiarized themselves with rich ethnic originality of Azerbaijan, the young volunteers from Karabakh Foundation told of their motherland. The participants also watched documentary films on carpets and music, schools, national musical instruments, historical monuments of Baku, and history of Maiden Tower. Professional dancer Shahin Alakbarov demonstrated the national movements and invited all to Yalli - the national unity dance.

Founder of American Mugham Society Jeffrey Werbock delivered a lecture on history and peculiarities of mugham and answered to numerous questions on national instruments. On diversity of cultures of America, Mayor of Montgomery district of Maryland state Ayza Legget said such events are bridges between the nations. She expressed gratitude to Karabakh Foundation for initiative, which promotes the mutual understanding between the nations.
