Dutch-Azeri musical encounters to perform in Baku

In the framework of the 20th anniversary of bilateral relations between the Kingdom of the Netherlands and the Republic of Azerbaijan, a concert “Dutch-Azeri musical encounters” will take place on the April 3 in the Rashid Behbudov State Song Theatre, the embassy of Netherlands in Azerbaijan reported.

The concert, sponsored by the Netherlands Embassy and supported by the Azerbaijani Ministry of Culture and Tourism, will be featuring Dutch pianist Sara Crombach playing together with the Azerbaijani violoncellist Aleksey Miltikh and violinist Jeyla Seyidova.

Music by Dutch and Azeri composers from the 20th century will be performed, amongst them famous Henriette Bosmans, prominent Fikret Amirov, Gara Garayev and Niyazi Tagizade-Hajibeyov. It should be noted that in 2012 Niyazi’s centenary and Amirov’s 90th birthday are celebrated.
