SOCAR Head continues U.S. visit

Chief of Azerbaijan State Oil Company (SOCAR) Rovnag Abdullayev met with rector of Rice University David Leebron. Mr. Abdullayev informed about Baku Higher Oil School, which has been opened under the SOCAR. He said the higher school will establish relations with foreign educational institutions.

 Rector of the Rice University praised relations between Azerbaijan and Texas State in oil and gas sectors and wished Baku Higher Oil School success. He expressed his confidence the large-scale projects would be implemented between the SOCAR and the Rice University.

Rovnag Abdullayev met with mayor of Houston city Annise Parker. Mr. Abdullayev said businessmen from Houston expand their activities in Baku. SOCAR chief updated the mayor about history, culture and habits of Azerbaijan. Mrs. Parker expressed her confidence the relations between Houston and Baku would be expanded even more. Rovnag Abdullayev said Eurovision Song Contest 2012 will take place in the capital of Azerbaijan and invited Mrs. Parker to visit Baku.
