SOCAR conducts environmental monitoring in Baku bay

The Environment Management of the State Oil Company of the Azerbaijan Republic (SOCAR) has conducted environmental monitoring to study the status of clean-up work along Baku Bay and the Caspian Sea coastline, management reported.

The monitoring was conducted using the Boulevard-1 ship. The clean-up work is carried out through the same vessel from 8:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m. and the collected waste and rubbish shall be returned to the Shimal Korpusu shore base, where they are sorted. According to the shore base, the average daily volume of waste collected reaches 3-4 tons.

The Boulevard-1 ship was built in the Turkish shipyard Besiktas. The ship's length is 12.4 meters. Its width is 3.2 meters.
