
Germany's Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung has published an article titled „Building bridge for Caspian natural gas“ by Gabriele Deruakh, featuring outcomes of the global energy conference, which was attended by SOCAR office in Germany.
The article claims the global energy conference was a success. Participation of representatives of Azerbaijan, Caspian nation was successful.
"Advantages of our supplies are evident as they are reliable," Head of SOCAR office in Germany Elmar Mammadov said.
"It enables Germany to diversify its energy suppliers and helps ensure energy security of Europe," he said.
The article says implementation of the Shahdeniz second phase project will allow delivering additional 10 billion cubic meters of gas to Europe. SOCAR successfully carries out exploratory drilling in the Umid and Babek fields.
The current production in the country comes to 27 bcm per year, which can double by 2020.
