Azerbaijan holds negotiations with Czech Republic, Slovakia and Hungary for crude oil export to these countries, said deputy vice president of the Azerbaijan State Oil Company (SOCAR) Vitaly Beylerbeyov.
"Azerbaijan can begin crude export to Czech Republic, Slovakia and Hungary any time. There is a pipeline and we don’t need in additional construction. Everything will depend on the agreement", said Beylerbeyov.
SOCAR official said oil refineries of these East European countries are buying Azerbaijani oil at present time, but it is supplied via Romania. "Our proposal considers alternative routes and larger export than other projects, like Odessa-Brody pipeline, which has only 10-million tones of annual export capacity".
