Visa facilitation process delays in Azerbaijan

"Despite the process of visa facilitation is considered to be started on June 1, the process is delayed because of technical problems. The issue considered by the government is completely elaborated and will be carried out in the very high level. This is a policy of Azerbaijani state", deputy head of the tourism department of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism Mahir Gahramanov said commenting on the issue of visa facilitation.

He said visa facilitation is considered not only for the Eurovision, but all guests arriving in Azerbaijan. "It is impossible that Eurovision guests arrive from one gate and other from another one. Azerbaijan is known for its hospitality and it will be sustainable. The process will be started soon and the people arriving in the country will witness our hospitality and humanism. It will have positive impact on the rate of tourist travels to Azerbaijan".

Gahramanov said experienced professionals will welcome and host the tourists arriving in Azerbaijan and they considered a series of projects for that. The Ministry of Culture and Tourism elaborated the action plan due to the declaration of Year of Tourism in Azerbaijan in 2011, said Gahramanov and added that this plan was coordinated with other ministries.

"Approval of the action plan needs in some technical procedures and it will be solved in the near future".
