Microsoft reports on activities in Azerbaijan for 2010

The company has introduced new operating system Windows 7 in Azerbaijan this year.

The Azerbaijani version of Windows 7 was also introduced in the country in the same year. As a result of localization of Windows 7 into Azerbaijani language, Azerbaijani dictionary of commands and words used in the products of Microsoft (Glossary) was created, the interface has been localized into the Azerbaijani language (Language Interface Pack).

In 2010, Microsoft Azerbaijan together with the Ministry of Education, Ministry of Communications and Information Technologies and HP with the support of local partners Bestcomp and ULTRA has begun a new phase of the project National Computer aimed at providing different strata of the population with high-quality computers and licensed software on easy terms. In addition to school teachers, the new phase will allow high school students, university students as well as teachers to get computers on preferential terms.

This year the Azerbaijani representation of the corporation has continued working in the introduction of ICTs in the education system of Azerbaijan. Note that Microsoft Azerbaijan is also involved in implementing the State Program on Informatization of Education System in 2008-2012.

As part of the fruitful cooperation in Azerbaijan, Microsoft holds competition of local innovative teachers. The winners of the competition represent the country at the European and global forums. In general, the world`s leading software maker highly appreciates the level of development of ICT in Azerbaijan.
