
Azerbaijan supplied over 300,000 tons of oil and oil products to Poland in the first six months, the Minister of Industry and Energy Natig Aliyev told journalists at the Azerbaijan-Poland business forum held in Baku.
Since 2008, Azerbaijan has exported about 220,000 tons of oil products processed at its oil refineries, to Poland per year. According to Aliyev, Poland is also interested in the implementation of the project of construction of the Brody-Plotsk pipeline, in which Azerbaijan is actively involved.
There are great opportunities n developing relations in the fields of agriculture, health, light industry, tourism addition to the energy sector in addition to the energy sector, the minister said. These issues will be discussed at a meeting of the Azerbaijan-Poland intergovernmental commission on economic cooperation, which is underway today in Baku. Certain proposals will be made on them.
According to him, one of the most important sectors, which need to be actively developed, is the transportation sector. Poland is actively developing the tourism industry, but the lack of direct flights between Warsaw and Baku, creates some problems for the Azerbaijani tourists. Also cooperation in the field of rail and road transport will be discussed during the commission, Aliyev said.
Solving these problems will contribute to further development of relations between Azerbaijan and Poland, Aliyev said.
