Azerbaijan reduces cotton exports

In Jan.-May, country’s cotton exports made up 97.9% of exports carried out in Jan.-May 2009 with an increase of 30.68% in income. About 1,846,000 tons of cotton was exported in Jan.-May 2009 which made up 0.3% of country’s total exports (($8,176,965,000) or $2,245,400.

In May, 21,400 tons of cotton worth $1.2 million was exported with average price of $ 602.8/tons against 42.8 tos for $1.7.7 million for the price of $413.55 per ton in April. In 2009, Azerbaijan exported cotton at average price of $9999 per ton.
