Russia's ambassador: Work of Azerbaijani-Russian Chamber of Business Cooperation to be improved

15 April 2010 [14:40] - TODAY.AZ
Russian Ambassador to Azerbaijan Vladimir Dorokhin spoke about intentions to improve the format of the meetings and the work of the Azerbaijani-Russian Chamber of Business Cooperation.

"We want this Chamber to play a more important role both to represent the interests of Russian business, and resolving emerging problems," Dorokhin told media during a conference on prospects of Russian-Azerbaijani relations today.

Experience from previous meetings will help to realize these intentions. However, the date of the next meeting is unknown, he said.

Next week there will be a meeting of businessmen in a narrower range, the ambassador said.

The 'round-table' on "Russia and Azerbaijan: expansion of inter-regional cooperation to inter-regional partnership" is held in Baku on the initiative of the Institute of European Studies.

"The forum, like today's one, is the first of this kind between Azerbaijan and Russia, despite the strong cooperation between our countries. Russia has a special forum on cooperation with Ukraine, Belarus and Kazakhstan. Now we have begun to work with Azerbaijan, Dorokhin said.

The ambassador stressed worthy participation of both sides in the forum. The Russian delegation was represented not only at the level of central authorities, but also at the regional level.

"I think that future prospects are clear. Our countries have great potentialities for cooperation. The number of jobs will increase due to the cooperation of Azerbaijan and Russian regions," Dorokhin said.
