
The sixth international conference and exhibition BANKING & FINANCE 2010 opens in Azerbaijan, director of Iteca Caspian company Farid Mammadov said at a press conference to mark the opening of the exhibition and conference held at Trend press center.
"The most pressing issues and problems of the banking sector will be discussed at the conference. Market participants will exchange information with representatives of the Central Bank of Azerbaijan and State Committee on Securities" Mammadov said.
The bank's department for the supervision of credit institutions head Rashad Orujev said that the central bank supports such events, which are particularly urgent in the current circumstances.
About 70 representatives from 12 countries such as Russia, Turkey, Austria, Kazakhstan, Belgium and Britain will attend the conference. In general, more than 200 delegates will attend the conference "Banking and Finance".
The Sixth Caspian Banking and Finance Conference will be held in Baku April 13-14. British company ITE Group and its partner in the Caucasus Iteca Caspian are organizers of the conference and exhibition. The Central Bank of Azerbaijan, the Association of Banks of Azerbaijan and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) support Caspian Banking and Finance. The conference was sponsored by the international auditing firm PriceWaterHouseCoopers and Amrahbank.
More than 200 delegates, including guests from the national banks, ministries of finance, banking associations and other financial institutions in Azerbaijan, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Russia, Ukraine, Turkey and other countries will attend the conference "Banking and Finance". There are representatives of key financial institutions such as EBRD, IFC, BSTDB, the Association of Banks of Georgia, the Association of Russian Banks are among the speakers. The Association of Banks of Azerbaijan, the Azerbaijan Association of Risk Professionals, Amrahbank, Bank of Baku, Kapital Bank, Pasha Bank, Raiffeisen Zentralbank, Royal Bank and other banks, as well as representatives of insurance, leasing, consulting, legal and auditing firms and investment banks will represent avangard of Azerbaijani bank system.
The main theme of the conference will reflect the impact of global economic crisis on the banking system of the Caspian region. The prospects of regional monetary and capital markets as sources of alternative and efficient mobilization of capital for commercial banks and enterprises will be discussed within the conference. A separate session will focus on building the future model of the banking sector in the region. For the first time this year alternative banking systems will be discussed. Thus, "High efficiency of principles of Islamic banking in the period of crisis and the reasons for this" will be discussed on the second day of the conference. Participants of these discussions will be specially invited experts - representatives of banks from the Middle East.
