Romanian Ambassador: Romania is optimistic about Nabucco project's future

Romania is optimistic about the future of the Nabucco gas pipeline project, Romanian Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador to Azerbaijan, NATO representative in the country, Nicolae Ureki said during a meeting organized by the Centre for Strategic Studies under Azerbaijan's President within regularly scheduled meetings with the ambassadors.

The Nabucco project envisages gas transportation from the Caspian region and the Middle East to EU.

"Nabucco a very important project for us - as an alternative source of gas," - Ureki said.

According to Ureki,funding of this project is serious problem in its implementation. Ureki said several banks expressed their desire to fund the project.
