
The first ministerial conference of the states – members of the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) will take place in Baku on February 4-5, bringing together ministers of health from 10 countries.
On February 4 the conference will feature experts’ debates; on February 5 the ministers of health will discuss key issues of the contemporary medicine. Participants will visit a number of medical institutions of Baku.
Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) is an intergovernmental regional organization established in 1985 by Iran, Pakistan and Turkey for the purpose of promoting economic, technical and cultural cooperation among the Member States. ECO is the successor organization of Regional Cooperation for Development (RCD) which remained in existence since 1964 up to 1979.
Current members of ECO include Afghanistan, Azerbaijan Republic, Islamic Republic of Iran, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Islamic Republic of Pakistan, Tajikistan, Turkey, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan.
