Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan to sign energy agreement: Kazakh energy minister

The protocol was approved at the sixth meeting of Azerbaijani-Kazakh inter-governmental commission on economic cooperation in Baku.
The document was signed by Azerbaijani Minister of Industry and Energy Natiq Aliyev and Kazakh Energy Minister Sauat Mynbayev.

The commission recommended signing five documents between the governments of countries as part of Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev's visit to Azerbaijan on Oct. 2-3;

- the document on paying off debt accumulated as a result of trade-economic relations between Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan in 1992-1993;

- the agreement on cooperation in veterinary medicine;

- the agreement on mutual free  visa free trips of citizens;

- the agreement on cooperation between ministries of agriculture;

- the joint declaration on establishment of fraternal cities Sumgait and Aktau's relations.

KazMunaiGaz JSC and SOCAR are expected to sign an energy agreement. The agreement will envisage preparation of feasibility study for creation of Trans-Caspian system to transport Kazakh oil trough Azerbaijan, the Kazakh energy minister said.
