Public association Property Market Participants has released results of the August monitoring into the state of the secondary car market of Azerbaijan’s capital.

The monitoring revealed that the average price of a car in the secondary market is about $15,930.
About 38.2 percent of the 7,450 vehicles involved in the monitoring were put on sale in August, while the remaining cars are sold at an earlier time.
For already two years Mercedes-Benz car brand has a firm lead among the cars sold. Its share was 37.3 percent, which is 9 percent more than the July indicator.
Together, 9 brands hold 82.6 percent of the market in the secondary car market. The remaining 17.4 percent was shared among cars of more than 85 different brands owned by 20 firms.
Experts note a decline of demand and supply for cars in 1997-1998. At the same time, demand for cars produced after 2000 has increased.
