United Kingdom ready to support development of Southern Gas Corridor: energy minister

"We attach great importance to the gas delivery from the Caspian region to Europe," Hunt said.

The United Kingdom's role in the further development of the Southern Corridor was discussed in Baku on Sept. 16, he said.

The intergovernmental agreement on the Nabucco signed in July is a very important step. The Azerbaijan-Turkey agreement on transit issues should be a next step, Hunt added.

The United Kingdom will use all diplomatic measures to reach the agreement soon, the minister said.

Speaking about the UK and Azerbaijan relations, Hunt said a strong and reliable partnership was built between the two countries.
