Georgian minister: Delay in Baku-Tbilisi-Kars project is of technical nature

The delay in construction of Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway is of purely technical nature, Georgian Minister of Economic Development Lasha Zhvania said.
He said the delay is caused by complex relief of the area through which the railroad was being constructed.

“Specialists were involved to make certain changes to the route. This took some time. Private lands also caused problems. Purchase of lands from land  owners took time,” he added.
