SOCAR ups oil export via Baku-Novorossiysk

Azerbaijan State Oil Company (SOCAR) exported 1.475 million tons of oil via Baku-Novorossiysk pipeline in January-July 2009, a rise of 88.7 percent from the same period of 2008, the company said.

The company exported 247,042 tons of oil via the pipeline in July.

Azerbaijan has exported oil via Baku-Novorossiysk oil pipeline since 1997. SOCAR plans to pump 2.5 million tons of oil via this pipeline in 2009.

SOCAR transported 1.196 million tons via the pipeline in 2008.
