Azerbaijani launches new well in Oil Rocks

Azerbaijan’s Azneft production union has launched a new well in Oil Rocks field, the SOCAR Web site said.
The well 2283 was drilled from the platform 1887. The well has depth of more than 2,437 meters and daily flow of 67 tons of oil.

The platform 1887 put into operation in 2006 is meant for 36 wells with total daily flow of 1,000 tons of oil per day.

Oil Rocks field was launched in 1949. Over 173 million tons of oil were produced from Oil Rocks and Muddy Volcano fields so far. The reserves of the fields are estimates at 30 million tons.
