“Official Kiev continues talks with SOCAR to import oil products to Ukraine,” Ukrainian President’s special representative on energy issues Bogdan Sokolovsky told journalists, APA’s correspondent reports from Kiev.

He said Ukraine was interested in establishing good relations with SOCAR. He said 5 million tones of oil might be brought to Ukraine within the framework of the project. But the implementation of the project delays as Odessa-Brodi pipeline does not run in obverse regime. Bogdan Sokolovsky said one of the interesting projects for Ukraine was the construction of the plant processing 8-10 million tones of oil per year. No decision has been made whether the plant will be a joint venture or will belong to one of the states. Sokolovsky said it was a very interesting project and was of economic importance for both Ukraine and Azerbaijan. Ukrainian President’s special representative considers that SOCAR may be one of the most important players in the oil market of the world.
