The 4th New Silk Road Conference was held in Chicago, APA’s US bureau reports.

Vice-consul of Azerbaijani Consulate General in Los Angeles Elshan Baloglanov gave information about the history of Azerbaijan’s oil industry, its contribution to the world energy supply, statistical data about Azerbaijan’s oil and gas production, “The Contract of the Century”, history and operation of Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan oil pipeline and Baku-Tbilisi-Erzurum gas pipeline.
Baloglanov underlined that Azerbaijan was the main partner of the Western countries and the US and said along with delivering its energy resources, Azerbaijan was ready to be a transit and mediating country in delivering the energy resources of the other Caspian states to the West. It was noted that Azerbaijani government efficiently used the oil incomes, projects were implemented to increase the human capital (state programs for Azerbaijani students’ studying abroad), domestic production, especially production and export of agricultural products, State Oil Fund, AZPROMO, Azerbaijan Investment Company were established for efficient use and management of the incomes.
Consul General of Turkey to Chicago Kenan Ipek and representative of Eximbank in Chicago Barry Bint also addressed the event.
