Toshiba Japanese firm launched negotiations with Delta Telecom local telecommunication company to deliver its new notebooks supporting WiMAX mobile network on the Azerbaijani market, manager on Toshiba Europe partners Igor Zhitski said on April 17.

"Toshiba intends to turn Azerbaijan into the fifth country in which the company's new notebooks supporting WiMAX network will be presented," Zhitski said.
This firm's notebooks have been already presented in the USA, Italy and Holland. The presentation will be held in Russia on April 22, he said.
"Talks with Delta Telecom have just launched and both sides show interest for cooperation," Zhitski said.
Delta Telecom announced about its intentions to put into operation WiMAX Rev-e mobile network in 2008.
Upon the project total capacity of the network will hit 4.4 gigabit while all Internet providers use 1.4-gigabit capacity.
The project is realized upon the agreement signed in September 2008 between Delta Telecom and Alcatel-Lucent French company. This agreement will allow Alcatel-Lucent company rendering its users VoIP and other DATA-services besides high-grade Internet. Delta Telecom will play a role of distributor rendering these services.
Total cost of the project nits ?30 million.
Delta Telecom owns the biggest Internet Backbone network in the region. Platform of Backbone network based on modern technologies renders professional IP Backbone services to all Internet-providers of Azerbaijan and over 78 percent of Georgian providers. Infrastructure of DWDM Delta Telecom covers all regional and international centers.
