President of Ukraine Viktor Yushchenko has arrived on a two day official visit to Azerbaijan, according to the press service for the Ukrainian embassy to Azerbaijan.

The main task of the official visit is to hold the council of presidents of Ukraine and Azerbaijan, where there is a plan to consider issues of trade and economic cooperation, in particular in energy sector.
The visit which will last until April 10, envisions for bilateral meetings of the Ukrainian President with President Ilham Aliyev, speaker of Milli Medjlis Oqtay Asadov and Prime Minister Artur Rasizade.
The main element of the visit is to continue dialogue with Azerbaijan on creation of a transparent energy transportation corridor.
Also the meeting participants will discuss aspects of creation of the Eurasian oil transportation corridor. Another topic of official meetings will become the development of joint projects in the cosmic area.
Moreover, in Baku Yushchenko will take part in the opening ceremony of the memorial board on the house where the first diplomatic mission of Ukraine in Azerbaijan was staying in 1919-1920.
