In January of this year Azerbaijan conducted export and import operations with 92 countries in the amount of $1.2 bln, according to sources in the State Statistical Committee, according to Novosti-Azerbaijan.

"In January of 2009 Azerbaijan exported goods in the amount of $681.5 mln, which is 56.8% of the overall volume of commodity turnover and imported in the amount of $518.8 mln (43.2%). The positive balance in external trade turnover made $162.7 mln", says the statement.
As compared to January of the last year the volume of external trade turnover rose 6.9%. At the same time the volume of export rose 8.9% and import 4.5%.
In the export and import transactions 48.4% fell on EU states, 16.7% on CIS states and 34.9% on other countries.
63.7% fell on Europe, 24.4% on Asia, 11.7% on America, 0.1% on African states and 0.1% on Oceania.
80.7% of trade transactions are held with Iraly, USA, Russia, France, Germany, Turkey, Great Britain, Israel, Ukraine, Taiwan, Georgia and China.
