The SOCAR Department of Marketing and Economic Operations of Azerbaijan has declared a purchaser of 600,000 Azeri Light oil barrels.

Day.Az reports with reference to the press service for SOCAR that this is Sumato Energy Group Limited (New Zealand).
Oil will be shipped from the Supsa port on January 21-22 of 2009.
It should be noted that this is the second Azerbaijani oil shipment, shipped from the port of Supsa in 2009. The first oil shipment from Supsa is purchased by oil trader Glencode Energy UK Ltd (Great Britain).
It should be noted that the Baku-Supsa oil pipeline was launched on April 17 of 1999. From 1999 until 2005 the Baku-Supsa pipeline exported 50 mln tons of oil and through the first 10 months of 2006 - 5.6 mln tons. Since that time the pipeline has been closed for repair.
The oil pumping resumed on August of 2008. The pipeline extend to 837 kilometers. At initial stage the pipeline capacity was 117,000 barrels per year and after modernization it made 145,000 barrels per day or 7,000,000 tons per year.
