The European Commission allowed 16 developing states to carry out a duty-free export of several thousands types of goods to EU.

According to Interfax-Azerbaijan, from early 2009 until late 2011 Armenia, Azerbaijan, Bolivia, Columbia, Costa-Rico, Ecuador, Salvador, Georgia, Guatemala, Honduras, Mongolia, Nicaragua, Paraguay, Peru, Sri Lanka and Venezuela will get special trade privileges in the framework of the GSP+ plan, proposed in addition to standard privileges, provided in the framework of the generalized system of preferences GSP.
The statement also says that the volume of the commodity turnover of the countries, who got privileges in the framework of GSP+ made EUR 4.7 ($6 bln) in 2007. The amount of customs losses of the EU from provision of GPS+ privileges to the aforementioned countries made EUR 357 mln against GPS privileges.
