In 2007 the state budget of Azerbaijan received over 4.54 billion AZN (over $5.37 billion by current exchange rate) of taxes, which is 67.2% higher, as compared to 2006, according to the Taxes Ministry of Azerbaijan.

The tax receipts from the state economic sector of the country made up 1.29 billion AZN (nearly $1.53 billion) which is 53.6% higher, as compared to 2006, private sector -3.25 billion AZN (over $3.8 billion)-which is a 73.3% rise, as compared to 2006.
Oil sector ensured 64.16% of tax receipts of the budget of Azerbaijan, which is 2.5% higher, as compared to 2006. The tax payments in the said economic sector exceeded 2.91 billion AZN (over $3.44 billion) which is 74.1% higher than the previous year.
The tax receipts in the non-oil economic sector made up 1.62 billion AZN (about $1.92 billion) which is 56.3% higher, as compared to 2006.
