Romania wants to take part in energy sector of Azerbaijan

Rovnag Abdullayev, President of the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan, met with Mihail Lupoi, head of Romanian delegation to NATO Parliamentary Assembly, Vice President of Parliamentary Assembly.

They discussed prospects of cooperation, security of oil and gas pipelines and other related issues. Mr. Abdullayev said that Azerbaijan opened a corridor to Europe for guarantee of energy security.

Mr. Mihail Lupoi emphasized the utmost importance of energy related project in Azerbaijan for Europe and added that Romania intends to take part in these projects.

Rom Petrol director general unveiled a wish that they want to be involved in hydrocarbon development in Azerbaijan. He added Rom Petrol's oil refineries are receiving Azeri Light crude oil but they want to sign long-term contracts enabling direct delivery from Azerbaijan.

Mr. Abdullayev noted that Azerbaijan has opened its doors for foreign firms offering economically efficient package of proposals and there is favorable investment climate in Azerbaijan for establishment of joint ventures. APA-Economics
