Latvia takes interest to invest in Azerbaijan

Today, the third Azeri-Latvian Business Forum has started in Baku.

The event has brought together representatives from Latvia companies such as Turiba, Vincents Polline, MTZ-serviss, Akciju komercbanka Baltikums, Baltic Bogs, Bauskas alus, TVVT, Olimps, LASKANA and Azerbaijan's State Oil Company, Caspian Shipping Company, UniBank, Parabank and other leading companies.

Visiting Foreign Minister of Latvia Artis Pabriks said Latvia's imports from Azerbaijan doubled to ?2 million in 2006 and exports to Azerbaijan reached ?7 million.

The total circulation of goods between the two nations beat ?9.6 million, APA reports.

He added that Latvian business circles are enthusiastic to cooperate with Azerbaijan's leading companies and to make investment in this country. He clarified that his country intends to invest some ?20 million in an economic sector in Azerbaijan.
