Azerbaijan cuts Q1 electricity imports 54%

During the first quarter, Azerbaijan produced more than 6.6bn kilowatts of electricity, of which 6bn kilowatt-hour generated by thermal power stations and the rest by hydropower stations.

Besides, Azerbaijan reduced electricity imports by 54.1%, year-on-year, to 359.1mln KW-h, of which 97.3mln KW-h came from Russia, 14.9mln KW-h from Turkey, 123.2mln KW-h from Iran and 23.6mln KW-h from Georgia.

The country used 657,000 tons of equivalent fuel oil and 1.1bn cubic meters of gas for electricity generation during the first quarter. APA-Economics
