Georgia to raise gas prices on domestic market in late April

Georgia is going to increase consumption gas prices on the domestic market after the initial discussion on April 16.

Georgian National Fuel and Energy Commission told APA-Economics that the prices rise is needed because of high-priced gas imports. The commission has not preset any prices.

Russia currently charges Georgia $235 per 1,000 cubic meters of gas compared to $100 last year and the country pays $62.5 per 1,000 cubic meters of Azeri gas (Shah Deniz).

The Government lend additional loan worth 125mln lari to five companies to keep prices unchanged in winter.
