Azerbaijan okays South Korean Company's proposals to install Intellectual Traffic Control System in Baku

Azerbaijan's Transport Ministry has approved of South Korean Company's technical draft for creation of Intellectual Traffic Control System in Baku.

Azerbaijan's Transport Ministry official Sadraddin Mammadov told APA-Economics that the paperwork is being prepared at present to announce a contest for installation of a state-of-the-art system.

"The process will pass two overlapping phases. At the first stage, the new system will cover Baku and then all the surrounding areas," he noted.

He said the SKC representatives visited Baku in January and February to monitor the prospects of establishment of the network.

The system will enable to centralize traffic in Baku by sending data through special radio and television frequencies.

People will be able to get information about traffic jams and traffic scheme through mobile phones. The system will also coordinate the relevant bodies of Azerbaijan.
