New Customs Code to be adopted

The customs code is expected to be adopted in 2007, reports Aydin Aliyev, the chairman of the State Customs Committee.

He also stated that appropriate measures are taken against some customs workers who demand illegal payment from entrepreneurs, bringing different goods to Azerbaijan.

The U.S. practice should be used in order to prevent from such illegal cases, noted Mr. Aliyev. "An American expert group will come to Azerbaijan after December 15. The main issue will be to learn the US practice," the chairman underlines. ANS
