Compulsory standards may hinder entrepreneurship

"We are ready for these standards. This process should be gradual because compulsory standards can hinder entrepreneurship. At present Azerbaijani enterprises can’t afford to produce goods meeting European standards, What we try to do now is that the products shouldn’t be harmful to health," Chairman of State Agency for Standardization, Meteorology and Patents Ramiz Hasanov said, APA reports.

He said Standardization Institute will be established within a few days. "The Institute will study what sectors are ready for European standards in Azerbaijan. European standards can be applied to the production of wine, juice, hazel-nut, nut and other goods to European standards," he said.
