ADB plans to lend $500 million to Azerbaijan

According to the Asian Development Bank Office in Baku, ADB delegation led by lead economist Hong Wang has been visiting Azerbaijan from 8 to 22 November. The aim is to apply a new multitranche financing facility for the road infrastructure.

The delegation met with deputy Prime Minister Abid Sharifov and had meetings at the Ministries of Finance, Economic Development, Transport and other government agencies.

ADB offered $500 million as a loan to support road infrastructure projects in Azerbaijan. The first tranche out of three was scheduled for the Masally-Astara motor road construction. Presently, the government of Azerbaijan IS reviewing the proposal. AzerTAg
