Russia intends to reduce gas supplies to Azerbaijan to 1.5bn cu m

Russia intends to reduce the volume gas imports to Azerbaijan by 3 billion cubic meters in 2007, SOCAR President Rovnag Abdullayev said.

"Russia exported 4.5 cu m of gas to Azerbaijan last year. Russia said it would export 1.5 cu m of natural gas for 2007," he said.

Abdullayev said that Azerbaijan will instead use its own gas and Turkish part of the gas from Shah Deniz Field. "The same volume of gas will be supplied to Turkey in future. That’s why the agreement with Turkey will not be changed," he said, APA reports.
