Czech request for Viktor Kozeny's extradition only follows after U.S.

According to Czech News Agency, The Czech Republic asked for Kozeny's extradition last May.

The United States wants him extradited over a corruption charge and money laundering in connection with the privatisation of oil industry in Azerbaijan.

At the U.S. request, Kozeny has been in custody in the Bahamas since last October.

The Czech Republic has also asked for the extradition of Kozeny who has been charged with embezzlement of property worth 13.6 billion crowns in the country.
